Access control systems govern who can enter a particular door or protected area, under which conditions and at what times
Core Components
A complete system may include readers, credentials, control panels, door contacts, electric locks and power supplies. Selection must match the door construction, usage and required safety behaviour
Credentials and Access Policies
Cards, codes or other supported methods have different security and privacy implications. Define user groups, permitted doors, working hours and revocation processes before programming the system
Life Safety and Emergency Egress
Door hardware and control behaviour must be coordinated with approved emergency escape and fire safety requirements. Electronic access restrictions must not prevent safe evacuation
CCTV and Attendance Integration
Some platforms can associate access events with surveillance or attendance records, but this requires supported interfaces, licences and clear business rules. Entry events should not automatically be treated as payroll attendance records
